PAST EVENTS

Here are some of the past events which have raised much needed funds for Alexander's chosen charities, the Bone Cancer Research Trust (BCRT) and the Teenage Cancer Trust. There have been over 100 fundraising events in Alexander's memory since that first Pink Party in 2009. Some recent examples are listed below, please do take time to read through these to take inspiration for something you might want to get involved with in the future. Thank you,

C2C CYCLE RIDE

Tim with friends from his Durham University days rode the Way of the Roses coast to coast route from Morecambe to Bridlington. The ride of 170 miles raised £5,726 for the BCRT.

LONDON TO AMSTERDAM

Tim Albiston, Ian Guy, Paul Kelly, George Roden and Phil Rowland cycled the 155 miles from London to Amsterdam raising £6,740 for the BCRT.

PINK PARTY

There have been 8 Pink Party events since the first party back in 2009. In total £20,372 has been raised through this annual event which raises money for the BCRT through ticket sales, auction and raffle.

LEEDS TRIATHLON

Tim Albiston with friends from his Durham University days competed in the charity side of the World Triathlon Championships held in Leeds. Forming 4 relay teams, with individuals each undertaking one event in the triathlon, the group raised a massive £10,308 for the BCRT.

CHARITY FOOTBALL MATCHES

Football was very much a part of Alexander's life, so it was natural that a number of fundraising activities have encompassed his passion for this sport. In various matches between Alexander's friends with his school teachers and another team comprising friends of the late Nick Walker have raised £17,391 in total for the Teenage Cancer Trust and BCRT.

C ROBERTS CHARITY CALENDAR

19 workers at the steelstocking holding company C. Roberts in Rotherham got together for a calendar photoshoot with a difference. The workers posed naked for photos in their work environment save for a hard hat and strategically placed work equipment protecting their modesty.
The calendar which sold out in many of the local shops in Wickersley raised a superb £5,760. The HSBC Bank then provided a £1,500 fund match for the Charity Calendar which brought the total raised to an unbelievable £7,260.

CHARITY SKYDIVE

6 friends of the Alexander Albiston took to the skies over Hibaldstow airfield, North Lincolnshire to undertake a skydive from 15,000 feet.  When Adam Fletcher thought of the idea to do the skydive, his enthusiasm was matched by that of his dad, Paul Fletcher and his sister Emma Fletcher.  The Fletchers were joined by Stuart Sanders, Charlie Snowden and Ross Johnson all also doing their maiden jump.  A total  of £2,594 was raised for the BCRT.

CHARLTON'S HALLOWEEN HOUSE

The Halloween House decorated by the Charlton family each Halloween has become an annual event and brings crowds and news media coverage from around the region. Over the years a superb £9,502 has been raised for the Teenage Cancer Unit at Weston Park in Alexander's memory.
